African women achievers’ summit to hold annually – – Promoters

One of the promoters of the African Women Achievers Awards and Summit and the Chief Executive Officer, Mayorkings Agency Group, Dr Temisan O. Louis said plans are underway to make the summit to become an annual programme that would promote women’s empowerment and excellence across the African continent.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the event, titled; ‘African Women Achievers Awards & Summit 2024’, held in Kigali, Rwanda, at the weekend, Louise said the event was a major milestone in promoting women’s empowerment and excellence, as well as a platform for African women to shine and be recognised for their remarkable achievements and contributions on the continent and beyond.

He said the pioneering meeting that took place in Kigali, Rwanda, also provided a unique opportunity for women from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences, network, and to inspire one another.

Louis explained that the success of the event is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the organisers, adding that plans are already underway for next year’s edition, which promises to be even bigger and more impactful.

The groundbreaking event brought together delegates from over 25 African countries to honour and celebrate the achievements of hardworking women from across the continent.

According to him, the ceremony also saw over 30 Rwandan citizens who participated and received recognitions for their outstanding contributions, including distinguished Senator,
Dr. Laetitia Nyinawamwiza
and the First Lady of Rwanda,
Her Excellency Dr. Jeannette Nyiramongi Kagame.

High point of the event was the establishment of the African Women Achievers Forum(AWAF) and the inauguration of the Pioneer Leadership Structure, which saw Prof. Dr. Martha Namundjebo-Tilahun as President of the forum and Amb. Dr. Nobomi Tshongweni as the executive secretary, alongside side country directors.
