Bloodbath in Anambra community as cult groups clash claims 11

The sleepy community of Nibo in Awka South LGA of Anambra State was on Sunday afternoon witnessed a bloodbath due to cult related killings.

As at the time of filing this report, eleven people were said to have been killed in the incident.

The rampaging cultists were said to have entered into the community through Oye Nwochichi market by Nibo old maternity where they opened fire on the people.

After killing about seven persons at the place where a prominent man was allegedly killed, they moved to Eke Nibo market where four people were said to have been gunned down.

The development has caused panic and stampede in the town as people are running away from the the rampaging cultists.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Tochukwu Ikenga (SP) has confirmed the incident, noting that it was cult related.

Ikenga however said that the Anambra State Commisioner of Police, Nnaghe Obono Itam(CP) has ordered the immediate deployment of operatives to the area.

The PPRO implored the citizens in the area to make available useful information that would assist police operatives.
