The #Prayer and Support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and other Security Agencies (PSNAFSA) has described the passing of Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, as a great loss to the nation.
PSNAFSA in a press release signed by the Convener, AMB Mary Abayomi- Fatile said The Army lost a quintessential leader and a true patriot.
She said Lt. Gen. Lagbaja will be remembered for his selfless service, commitment to excellence and unwavering dedication to the Nigerian military and the nation.
She said that he was a remarkable leader who left an indelible mark on the Nigerian Army in particular and the Military in general.
“Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and the entire Nigerian Army during this difficult time. May his legacy continue to inspire and motivate us all.
“Lt. Gen. Lagbaja was a shining example of dedication, distinction, and leadership. As the Chief of Army Staff from June 19, 2023, until his passing on November 5, 2024, he demonstrated unwavering commitment to the Nigerian military and the nation . His contributions will forever be etched in our hearts and minds.
“Throughout his illustrious career, Lt. Gen. Lagbaja held various significant roles across different military units, showcasing his exceptional leadership qualities and professional development. He was a true advocate for the soldiers, always prioritizing their welfare and well-being.
“His tenure witnessed significant strides against insurgents and enemies of the state, demonstrating his strategic vision and leadership prowess.
“The Nigerian Army has lost a quintessential leader, and our nation has lost a true patriot. We will always remember Lt. Gen. Lagbaja’s selfless service, his commitment to excellence, and his unwavering dedication to the Nigerian military and the nation.
