The Prime Minister of the Biafra Government in Exile (BRGIE), Simon Ekpa, has announced the appointment of a United States-based attorney, Arman Dabiri, to aid in the quest for Biafra’s independence.
Ekpa made this known in a statement shared on his official X handle on Saturday.
He stated that Dabiri’s expertise would play a pivotal role in the actualisation of Biafra’s self-rule and its recognition on the international stage.
According to the Prime Minister, the legal expert will focus on advising the BRGIE on securing U.S. recognition of Biafra’s independence declaration.
“In preparation for the declaration of the restoration of independence for the United States of Biafra and the pursuit of recognition, the Biafra government is proud to announce to the Biafra people that we have added Arman Dabiri, a very big Iroko, to our international legal team.
“Arman will focus on advising the Biafra Government on US recognition while other international lawyers continue their work in their various assignments,” Ekpa stated.
This development follows Ekpa’s earlier declaration to proclaim Biafra independence on December 2, 2024.
