Honour to whom honour is due: Emeka Omeihe, Media Guru, honoured by his community

Renowned media guru and one time Executive Director, Publications, Champion Newspapers Limited, Mr Emeka Omeihe, has been honoured by his people, Osina Ancient Kingdom.

The entire town at two separate events stood still to say ‘thank you our illustrious son’ who deployed his pen profession to bring peace to the Ancient Kingdom when it experienced turbulent situation.

The initial award was at an event which took place at the Main Auditorium of Ozubulu Hall, Festac Town, Lagos State, on Sunday, December 8, 2024, which saw the creme de la creme of the town and outside the town gracing the occasion where grandeur matched pageantry. Here the media pundit was recognized for leadership Excellence and roles in OTU Lagos branch.

The doyen of the media, a man with impeccable analytical sense, who has at various occasions politely declined all entreaties to be conferred with any chieftaincy title, was honoured in the Golden Award Category for his Leadership Excellence, roles, commitment and various contributions to the growth and development of Osina Ancient Kingdom.

His towering figure grew even bigger and exceeded expectations as the entire Osina Ancient Kingdom on January 3, 2024 in Osina during the grand finale of their internationally acclaimed festival, Ezumezu Osina, further recognition and honour Emeka Omeihe in appreciation of his untiring efforts and contributions towards the affairs of Osina community.

Having served his community in various capacities both at branch and central levels, Omeihe was at various times the Senior Assistant on Media to the former Governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu; and Executive Assistant (Public Affair) to His Excellency,former Governor of Imo State, Dr Achike Udenwa.

Receiving the award, Mr Omeihe expressed appreciation for the honour done to him by his people and disclosed his readiness to double his efforts in the service of Lagos Branch and Osina Ancient Kingdom in general.

In handing over the award, Chairman of Osina Town Union Lagos Branch, Chief Aloysius Chukwudi Emeh (Okadigbo 1 of Osina) commended Mr Omeihe for his continued assistance to the branch and community.

He said “We appreciate what you are doing in Osina community and we urge you to keep it up.”
