Presidential initiative on Tertiary Institution Staff Support Fund (TISSF) for academic and non-academic staff of tertiary institutions in Nigeria has officially opened – (http://tissf.education.gov.ng).
The TISSF is a strategic welfare initiative designed to enhance tertiary institution staff, support professional development and promote financial independence. In this manner it will support, interest-free loan of N10 million maximum made available with a maximum repayment period of 5 years and a one-year moratorium for each beneficiary.
Staff Beneficiaries of the fund are expected to use it to meet needs as Transportation, small scale agro business initiatives, medical expenses, family support accommodation and academic advancement.
Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa asserts that the TISSF is another evidence of Renewed Hope in action. A demonstration of President Tinubu’s Commitment to Education and support for its component parts.
Just like the student oriented NELFUND, an initiative which is already a run away success by the Tinubu led Administration, the TISSF comes in as a timely and much needed support intervention for University, Polythecnic and Colleges of Education Staff, academic and non-academic, he explained .
The Tertiary institution staff support fund is a key component of the National Education Sector Renewal Implementation, NESRI, framework championed by the Education Minister. The Minister has set up guard rails and a robust monitoring template to ensure smooth implementation, the Mijister added via a press statement.
