From Shuaibu Zubair Tatu, Birnin Kebbi

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, says, his administration is fully satisfied about the gallantry and doggedness of security services in fighting banditry and other forms of criminality.

He made the remark in Birnin Kebbi yesterday after an expanded security meeting with heads of security agencies in the state.

“We convene security meetings to reappraise the security situation all over the state, our security agencies are alive to their responsibilities”,

“Kebbi State Government will continue to support them to continue with the good job they are doing”, the Governor assured.

Comrade Idris explained that Kebbi was in a strategic security location as it shared border with the Benin Republic and the Republic of Niger.

“Lakurawa bandits infiltrate through the Niger border into some local government areas along the boundary in Kebbi, to carry out hit-and-run operation”,

“Thank GOD, our security services have found out their points of infiltration and not only repulsing them but also blocking their entrance”,

“In the course of our meeting, heads of the security agencies gave us advice on strategies to strengthen and consolidate on existing successes recorded, which we accepted”,

“The administration is again thanking them for making Kebbi peaceful and habitable, especially in areas with security challenges”, Comrade Idris averred.

The governor made it clear that matters of security should not be left to the Federal Government alone, but is incumbent on states and local governments to do the needful.

“Afterall, the people resident in states and local government areas are those being protected, therefore security is a collective effort”,

“For now, our security services are on top of the situation”, the governor assured.
