Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District, Ede Dafinone, has felicitated Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the government and people of Delta State, and the Urhobo people on the 35th anniversary of the creation of the state.
Dafinone, in a goodwill message marking the anniversary, described the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on Delta State’s journey while reaffirming the collective commitment of its people to peace, unity and sustainable development.
He urged Deltans to continue to embrace one another with love, mutual respect and understanding, irrespective of ethnic, cultural or political differences.
“Our diversity should remain a source of strength, not division,” Dafinone said, stressing that recognising and respecting the contributions of the various ethnic groups and communities would help build a more united, peaceful and prosperous Delta.
According to him, “Delta State is one big heart and one big family,” stressing that the people must continue to work together, support one another and promote healthy competition in ideas, enterprise and development.
He called on Deltans to place the collective interest of the state above narrow or sectional considerations, saying Providence had brought the people together for a common purpose.
Dafinone also commended Governor Oborevwori for his leadership and urged Deltans to remain united in the pursuit of a greater Delta.
He wished the state many more years of growth, prosperity and enduring unity, while expressing confidence that a shared commitment to peace, unity and progress would strengthen Delta State and make it better for present and future generations.
