Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has expressed profound grief over the tragic crash involving a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft, with tail number NGR 931, in a swampy area near the Naval Base in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, resulting in the loss of military personnel and other lives.
Mutfwang’s message was contained in a press statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Gyang Bere, made available to journalists in Jos, the State Capital.
He described the incident as a painful tragedy and a monumental loss to the nation, particularly at a time when the men and women of the Nigerian Armed Forces continue to make immense sacrifices in the service of Nigeria.

The Governor said the death of the personnel and other victims represents a grievous national loss.
He said it is “coming at a moment when the Nigerian Air Force and other security agencies remain steadfast in confronting threats to national security and safeguarding the lives and livelihoods of citizens.”
He commended the fallen personnel for their courage, patriotism and selfless commitment to duty, noting that “their sacrifices exemplify the highest ideals of service to country and humanity.”
Mutfwang extended his deepest condolences to the bereaved families, colleagues and loved ones of the victims, “praying that Almighty God will grant them the strength, comfort and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
