Emir of Borgu Inaugurates Task force to sensitise subjects on Covid-19

The Emir of Borgu, HRH, Alh. (Barr.) Muhammed S. Haliru Dantoro, kitoro iv, Mai Borgu, has inaugurated a Task force to sensitise residents of Borgu and Agwara Local Governments on the rampaging Covid-19.

The Task Force is a collaboration between the Borgu Emirate council and the two council’s.

The Emir who is the leader of the two councils charged the Task Force to assist the Government’s effort in protecting the people from the virus.

He stressed that the lives of the people are protected in the face of the deadly disease.

He appealed to Government agencies, private sectors and individuals to support the Task Force to ease the implementation of their activities. He commended the Federal and Niger state Governments on the measures already put in place at all levels to curtail the spread of the deadly virus.

The emir commended the entire people of the Emirate for their support and adherence to government directives. He further appealed to all residents to pray for God’s intervention to bring the pandemic to an end.

A former Director of Health, Borgu Local Government and the District Head of Sabuke, Alh. Muhammad Isah Damisa is the Chairman of the Task Force.

Other members are Health personnels from the two local governments in the Emirate, the state Health management board, the primary Health care, Military, private Hospitals and retired experienced Health workers in the Emirate.

The Task Force will educate the people on the dangers of the COVID-19 virus, need for proper hygiene and social distancing.

It also has a mandate to support the people who are facing challenges as a result of strict government directives put in place to check spread of the disease.

Furthermore, a committee for distribution of relief materials for the Emirate is set to be inaugurated. The committee will among other things ensure equitable distribution of any relief items received from Governments and individuals.
