As Muslims across the world mark Eid-el Fitri, national and state legislators from Nasarawa state have joined in felicitating with their people.
Senator Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, who is currently representing Nasarawa South Senatorial zone at the National Assembly, has congratulated all his Muslim brothers and sisters on the successful completion of the 30 days mandatory fasting.
He said Ramadam fasting teaches all Muslims the values of love, justice, equity and unity among other cherished virtues.
According to him ” As the Holy Month of Ramadan comes to an end, Muslim faithful should assess their conduct and align their behaviors to the teachings of Islam.
“As a result of the lessons which bequeath to us through Ramadan fasting, we are expected to continue to demonstrate understanding and tolerance towards one another and show compassion to those in need,” Al-Makura reiterates..
He added that this special occasion of Ed-El- Fitir, affords us the opportunity to make sober reflections and assessment of our conducts as true followers of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon Him).
He urged all our good people to rally round the APC administrations at the Federal and State levels, to enable Gov Abdullahi Sule and President Mohammadu Buhari, deliver more dividends of democracy.
On his part, Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, urged citizens to respect all government directives and health experts advise against coronavirus as Muslims celebrate sallah, in order to curtail its spread in the society.
In a sallah message signed by his Press Secretary, Jibrin Gwamna and made available to newsmen in Lafia, the speaker called for intensified prayers for God’s intervention on the dreaded disease.
Balarabe Abdullahi who emphasized that COVID-19 is real,hence the need for all Muslims to pray and adhere strictly to the preventive measures against it as they celebrate eid-Ell fitr in the interest of their health and that of others .
