2023: Shifting power to Igbos will end agitations – PANPIEC

The Pan Nigeria Presidency of Igbo Extraction Coalition (PANPIEC) has advocated for all political parties to zone their 2023 Presidential seat ticket to the southeastern part of the country.

The coalition said shifting power to the east would engender confidence, a sense of belonging, as well as erase the agitations in the southeast.

The socio-political organization called on all stakeholders to work towards the realisation of Nigeria Presidency of Igbo extraction.

PANPIEC made its position known in a statement jointly signed by its Director of Planning and Strategy, Pat Anyanwu and Assistant Director, Contact and Mobilization, Prudence Uchebuakor and made available to Daily Post on Sunday.

The political group further called on stakeholders from other parts of the country who have shown interest to contest the 2023 Presidency to think twice and rescind such a decision.

According to PANPIEC in the statement, “we are however conscious of the fact that Nigeria desperately needs peace, stability and political equity in 2023. All sections of the country need to have a sense of political justice as was done in the past for all other zones and major units of Nigeria.

“Let a Pan Nigeria person from the area succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
Let what happened in the USA when Obama became President of the country, happen in Nigeria. Today, blacks cannot say they have not been part of the American political history, “It concluded.
