A group of Christian clerics have demanded an end to the killings in the country.
In a press briefing in Abuja, they called for the reorganization of the security forces of Nigeria to reflect equal appointment of Christians and Muslims as service chiefs and heads of security organization; The removal of Sheik Ali Pantami as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as he lacks the moral requirement to continue to serve as minister because of his link with the American terrorism watch list; The termination of the appointment of the acting Inspector general of Police which further contradicts the federal character provision of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria; The national peace committee under the chairmanship of General Abdulsalami Abubakar should as matter of urgency called general Buhari government to order so that he can balance his appointments by incorporating Christians into the security leadership of the country. Because this is causing serious tension fear and suspicion in the country; The federal Government under Gen. Muhammadu Buhari should ensure that the perpetrators of the IDP camp murder in Benue are brought to justice if not it will spell doom for the entire country.
The group, Ecclesiastical Justice Forum in Abuja on Thursday, lamented also that Leah Sharibu is still in the hand of Islamic terrorists three years after the Nigerian government have liberated her Muslim colleagues and left her at the whims of the terrorists.
The group said they are in tears because Nigeria has become a bloody state with innocent citizens being slaughter massively on daily basis.
Speaking on behalf of the forum, the Coordinator, Rev. Ayuba Kantiok, said recent kidnapping and killing of innocent students at Greenfielf University Kaduna is a great source of weeping.
“We aslo remember with tears the inhuman attack and killing of our people at internally displaced persons IDPs camp I Benue. Most importantly our tears are flooding down our cheeks because the Christian Church in Nigeria is facing the most difficult era since the inception of Nigeria.
He said the Muhammadu Buhari regime has been at war against the church.
“Today Leah Sharibu has been left in the hands of terrorists because she is a Christian. Today the government is saying nothing about her. The Buhari Regime and the Yobe State Government who have interacted with the terrorists and secured the release of the Muslim girls continue to insult our sensitivity and dignity by doing nothing to secure the release of Leah.
“Her colleagues were brought back in pomp and pageantry, hundreds of kidnapped school boys in Kankara Katsina State were brought back safely, the girls from Kagara Niger State were brought back within days, the Zamfara State girls have also been released without hurt and the Muslim girl which was arrested in Saudi Arabia over a drug related offence was released after herculean effort by the Nigerian government.
“The release of the aforementioned who are all Muslims cost Nigeria a huge amount of Resources and yet nothing is worth sacrificing to rescue Leah under the pretext that the terrorists refused because she refused to convert to Islam.
“The story of the captivity of Leah in the hand of Islamic terrorists and the Gaidam and the Buhari government represent a story of a failed and hopeless Country.
“For a very long time we did not hear about Leah. To our consternation an archaic story was released that Leah was married to a terrorists Commander and was nursing a baby. Despite the ugly nature of this story, the Buhari Regime did not say anything.
“The National Assembly did nothing about Leah. Interestingly Ahmed Lawal, the present Senate President and Senator Ibrahim Gaidam are from Yobe State where Leah was abducted. Gaidam was the Governor when this small Christian girl was kidnapped at Dapchi. Gaidam and Ahmed Lawal were key members that negotiated the released of the Muslims girls leaving Leah in the den of the terrorists.
“Today the Nigerian Christian under the regime of Alhaji Gen. Muhammadu. Buhari are facing the worse model of injustice, one of the worse in the 21st Century. The Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari regime since 2015 till date have being waging both overt and covert war against the Christians in Nigeria.
“You must be a Muslim in order to be employed to work in the government, you must be a Muslim to be given a reasonable appointment, and you must be a Muslim for the government to secure your release if kidnapped by terrorists as is currently going on in Northern Nigeria. Today Christians have being completely eliminated from all the Federal Security Organization in Nigeria.
He lamented exclusion of Christians in the government, saying Muslims are heading almost all sensitive government agencies.
“This Islamization of the entire Federal Security Forces and Services point to a grand conspiracy against the Christian Church in Nigeria.
The forum also said in Kaduna State, Fulani herdsmen terrorist move freely, bearing lethal weapons, they rape, kill, extort huge amount of money through kidnapping of Christians and southern Kaduna people with impunity.
“Instead of being arrested and punished, they are being remunerated by the state government.
“Christians and Christian Leaders have paid the most fundamental sacrifice for the survival of Nigeria on sundry occasion, Christians have sacrificed their right and privileges in pursue of peace and unity in Nigeria.
