Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has been called on to address the problem of water scarcity in Keffi Local Government Area (LGA).
Senator Abdullahi Adamu, representing Nasarawa West, and Ahmed Wadada, Chairman of Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (PAN) made the call at a town hall meeting on Friday in Keffi LGA.
Wadada, a former House of Representatives Member while noting that lack of regular water supply by Water Board was a very serious problem to the people of the area, appealed to the governor to strengthen the capacity of the state Water Board for better service delivery.
He also advised the governor to emulate the administration of Abdullahi Adamu, the first civilian governor of the state whom throughout his tenure, ensured adequate water supply throughout the state.
Wadada however commended the governor for his developmental strides in Keffi, such as the ongoing neighbourhood market, Keffi Square, schools, medical centres among others, as he appealed that the state government should contract two buypass in Keffi to decongest the town.
In his remark, Senator Abdullahi Adamu hammered on the irregular supply of water in Keffi, as he stressed the need for adequate water supply in the entire state.
Adamu lauded the governor for his efforts toward protecting lives and property as well as provision of infrastructures to better the welfare of the people.
Responding, Governor Sule said the town hall meeting was aimed at getting feedback from the people on his administration’s performance.
Sule blamed the problem of water scarcity in Keffi on lack of proper maintenance of the pipes from Gudi in Akwanga LGA that supply water to Keffi.
The governor assured them that his administration was working hard to repair the broken pipes to ensure regular water supply in Keffi.
