Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has appointed a renowned political activist and a former students’ Union leader, Fa’izu Alfindiki his Special Adviser on Public Affairs.
Ganduje also approved the appointment of Habibu Abubakar as his Senior Special Assistant on Economy.
Also called Fa’izu Kamaluddeen Na-Ma’aji, Alfindiki was former Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Information, Youth, Sports and Culture, during the first tenure of Ganduje’s administration. He is a member of Centre for International Economic and Political Analysis (CIEPA) based in the United States of America.
He was an aspiring candidate of the State House of Assembly and Chairmanship position from Kano Municipal local government and a former member of the Board of Trustees of the National Association of Kano State Students (NAKSS), Kano State Chapter, among other numerous positions.
Abubakar on the other hand worked with Kano State Water Board from 1994-2013, from Clerical Assistant to the rank of Divisional Accountant. He was also Senior Special Assistant to the Kano State Deputy Governor from 2015 to 2018, among others.
In his comments while approving Alfindiki’s appointment, Ganduje said, “Fa’izu Alfindiki is a diligent political activist with extensive knowledge of political activities. Who has the capacity of meeting both short-term and long-term goals through comprehensive communication efforts, that is focused on current political issues on local, state and national levels.”
He added that, “Fa’izu is an astute public affairs commentator who knows his onions, when it comes to promoting and defending government policies and programmes, emphasising that, “Alfindiki knows the button to touch and make impact when it comes to defending public interest. Which is synonymous with our interest as a government.”
Ganduje emphasised that, “Alfindiki is an excellent defender whose focus, state, national and worldviews are people-oriented with much impact and clear understanding of situations on ground.
“Habibu Abubakar is another good young man who clearly understands how to manage people and a result-oriented gentleman. His calmness in facing his assigned responsibilities is another testimony to his proven track record.”
Ganduje called on the new appointees to always be vigilant in discharging their assigned responsibilities, insisting that, “you should prove to all that, your choice is rightly guided and apt.”
He also directed the two youthful aides to always use new technology, as an avenue to comply with the global best practices in their respective offices, “make your work to be ICT-based,” he admonished.
