The Speaker of Kano State House of Assembly, Hon. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari has won the Dambatta/Makoda House of Representatives ticket for the All Progressive Congress (APC) under consensus arrangement.
According to the Returning Officer of the election, Aminu Sani, the Speaker got a total votes of 98 out of 105, with seven as invalid votes.
“Rt. Hon. Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari having scored the highest vote is hereby declared winner of this primary elections to the House of Representatives in Dambatta/Makoda Federal Constituency,” he said.
He further stated that in Makoda Local Government area, the Speaker got 51 votes with 4 invalid votes and in Dambatta Local Government, he scored 47 forty votes with 3 as invalid.
The Speaker, Rt Hon Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari thanked the delegates and all other stakeholders from both Dambatta and Makoda local government areas for the confidence repose on him, assuring that he “would surely do his best to develop the areas as a Member representing Dambatta/ Makoda Federal Constituency.”
Council Chairmen of both Dambatta and Makoda local government areas, while commending the delegates, urged the people to support the flagbear in the 2023 general elections as he is the only one that can deliver the mandate, even as the people held a solidarity rally on the streets, shortly after the election.
