Following the introduction of ICT infrastructure in Nasarawa state ,recently the federal ministry of information communication and ICT has ranked Nasarawa state as the best in the country for capacity building in information communication technology (ICT)
The Director General Nasarawa state Bureau for ICT ,mallam Shehu Ibrahim made this known in his office on Wednesday in Lafia,the state capital.
He said the after considering the installation and the kind of infrastructure put in place by the state government, the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy being the conveners of the 7th National council meeting for ICT which took placed at Gombe last year,conferred an award to Nasarawa state as second best in ICT development.
Shehu reinstated that Nasarawa state government is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that information technology get a wide spread not within the civil servants alone but that it becomes a rallying point for entrepreneurial development.
According to him opportunity now abound for citizens of the state in the area of information technology with the kick off of the the program which has also enable civil servants in the state to be owners of lap tops and the ability to interact on the Internet.
The director general however called on the civil servants in the state to intensified their learning and update their skills.
He added that over 2000 lap tops have so far been distributed to workers in the state with the help of bright land computers ,the consultant handling the training on ICT in the state.
