The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has unveiled a portal that contains its chief examiners reports from 2008 to 2018, with a charge on candidates to avoid pitfalls that led to poor performance of individuals that sat for previous West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in the country.
In a post on its twitter handle, @waecnigeria on Thursday, the examination body identified candidates’ poor understanding of questions asked in the exam as one of the reasons for low performance in WASSCE.
WAEC called on candidates to improve on their mastery of English Language to avoid giving wrong answers to questions.
“Dear WAEC candidates, Have you heard of WAEC Chief Examiners Reports? Do you want to know why candidates who sat for previous WAEC examination performed below expectations? To satisfy your questions ,log on to waeconline.org.ng/e-learning,” the exam body tweeted.
According to WAEC Nigeria, the portal gives comprehensive analysis of candidates performance in all subjects, identifying their strengths and weakness, what they failed to do and what they should have done to secure better performance.
