I’ll Prioritize Security Of Lives, Property in Kogi – Gov. Bello

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Thursday assured the people of his commitment towards the sustenance of Security of lives and property in the state.

The governor who stated on Thursday at the Government House Lokoja, when the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, kogi state council paid him condolence visit, said he was encouraged by words of my mother to continue to serve the people with the fear of God.

The Governor last Sunday lose his mother, Hajia Hawawu Oziohu Bello, who died in hospital in Abuja after a a brief illness at the age of 101 years

While recounting how his late mother spent over 90 days with kidnappers before becoming the governor of the state, said no one would be allowed to go through such trauma under his leadership

The Governor who assured that the activities of criminal elements in the state would soon be a thing of the past, solicited the Cooperation of security agencies in the state so as to be able to win the war against kidnappers, other criminals.

Governor Bello noted that journalists as agenda setters must continue to partner with his administration to enable him deliver good governance to the people.

While appreciating the show of love by the people of the state to his family during this moment of grief, Bello said that he lack words to convey his deep appreciation to the people.

While describing his mother as virtuous woman, a great mediator, solution provided, he noted that she taught the children and those around her to have the spirit of contentment.

“My mother taught us respect for elders, she also encouraged us to be prayerful, brave and live with the fear of God. I will therefore continue to administer the affairs of Kogi state with the fear of God”.

Earlier, the state chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), kogi state, Alhaji Momohjimoh Adeiza, said that they were in government house to condoled the Governor, over the death of his mother.

According to the chairman, the woman lived a fulfilled life, haven withnessed her last child becoming the Governor of the state before passing on peacefully at the age of 101 years.

He prayed God to grant the departed soul a place in paradise and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
