Shun political blackmail, APC stalwart tells Nasarawa lawmakers

From Francis Nansak,Lafia

A stalwart of All Progressives Congress APC in Nasarawa state, Alhaji Usman Adamu, also known as Doya Hamsin, has appealed to the lawmakers of the state House of Assembly and other politicians to look inward.

Usman Adamu, on Sunday in Lafia the Nasarawa state capital told our correspondent in an exclusive interview that the position of the state legislators to probe the Secretary to the state government over the diversion of one billion naira meant for the construction of schools in the state was uncalled for.

He urged members of the house to shield their swords and reach an understanding on the matter, urging them to do that in the best interest of peace as instituted by the Governor Sule’s administration and avoid what may lead to distraction of the government.

According to him, there was no reason for the blame game, which is hatching into some kind of blackmail.

“The one billion naira in question allocated for schools projects cannot be said was what forms the reason for the probe.

“And if this was the only reason, then my view on the matter is that the house should ensure that they are probing him based on facts which they must do a thorough finding. Otherwise I feel their action still lacks ingredients,” he added.

Usman advised both the house members and other well-meaning citizens of Nasarawa state to shun politics of bitterness, blackmail and deliberate smearing of names.

” It is high time for our politicians embarking on smouldering of individuals just because such persons are in position we are not comfortable with, nobody becomes what he is but God is the one that elevated and once this has taken place, all that is needed is prayer and support instead of blackmail, ” Usman concluded.
