From Maduabuchi Nmeribeh, Kano

In a move to support the government in containing the spread of coronavirus, the Management of Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has assured Kano, Katsina and Jigawa customers of regular power supply to make them comfortable in their homes.

According to a Statement by KEDCO’s Head of Corporate Communication, Ibrahim Sani Shawai, “the Management, the move is borne out of KEDCO’s resolve to ensure that customers who are staying in their homes and observing the directive of the state governments in their respective states are comfortable through our services.

“The management noted that the directive by state governments for people to stay at home was in the best interest of everyone and must be obeyed.

“The government alone cannot do everything. We have recognized that our part is very crucial in ensuring that we support the government to achieve this aim as a company that prioritizes the interest of our customers.

“We will make our customers very comfortable while they stay at home through regular power supply. We have also made payment of bills and other services online and this is part of the comfort where a customer can pay their bills from the comfort of their homes.

“Before now, they leave their homes to make complaints and other issues that need our attention but because of the recent development, we have strengthened our online platforms to receive complaints and respond as speedily as possible.’’

“The Management also added that it was in the interest of ensuring the satisfaction and comfort of customers at a time like this that more of its engineers have been deployed to the fields while strengthening their monitoring unit for prompt response to technical faults that may threaten our resolve to give maximum comfort to our customers.

“While commending the people of Kano, Jigawa and Katsina states respectively for cooperating with their state governments to ensure that the fight against COVID-19 is total and collective, the MD/CEO, Dr. Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna urged customers to always report any technical fault as early as possible to ensure quick response.”
