Ganduje Says Kano COVID-19-Free Status The Art Of God, As He Inspects Dangote’s Isolation Centre

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, on Monday inspected the ongoing construction of Sani Abacha Stadium 600-bedded COVID-19 Isolation Center being sponsored by the President of Dangote Foundation, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, declaring that Kano’s COVID-19-free status is the art of God.

Ganduje, who was visibly elated at the level of work already done at the site, sat on one of the beds, enthusing that, “I am sitting on this bed not because I am a sick person, I am COVID-19 negative, but seeing is believing. I want to feel the comfort what the Dangote Foundation team has brought for those that are found or would be found positive.”

He disclosed that his administration has adopted three strategies in order to curtail the menace of Covid-19 in the state.

The strategies, according to him, are preventive aspect in which the state government has closed all 11 boarders leading in and out of the state, while those on essential services and materials are examined before being allowed to come in.

He also disclosed that there is curative strategy which is preparedness in case of a positive case, adding that lastly, the palliative aspect, under which he appointed a powerful Committee to collect and distribute donations to the most vulnerable groups in the society.

According to him, “with this Isolation Center that is almost ready, we are moving ahead. what remains now is the testing center. The Federal Government has promised to establish a testing center while the state government in collaboration with Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) are going to come up with another testing center as well.”

Speaking on the zero confirmed case of COVID-19 in Kano, Ganduje stated that, “it is not due to our effort, but Alhamdulilah, it is the will of Almighty Allah that we do not have a single case of COVID-19 in the state.”

He, however, urged people to pray against the prevalence of the pandemic in Kano.

The AUTHORITY reports that Kano has remained COVID-19 free, even as the Ganduje administration has taken all necessary step to tackle the deadly pandemic.

In his remarks, the state Commissioner of Health, Dr. Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa, who is also the Chairman of the Committee on the Establishment of Sani Abacha Stadium Isolation Center, said that the government has done a lot to ensure that the good people of Kano are protected by sensitizing and engaging stakeholders at the various levels.

He also stated that the state government has already established a state-of-the-art Isolation Centre at Kwanar Dawaki which is well equipped.

According to him, the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the Ministry Of Environment, Ministry of Works and Ministry of Youth and Sports have mapped out how to manage wastes that may be generated at the Sani Abacha Isolation Center.

The team leader from Dangote Foundation conducted the Ganduje round the Isolation Center.
