Nigeria’s evacuees from Thailand to pay over N297,000 for quarantine, isolation , others

The Federal Government has said Nigerians living in Thailand interested in returning home on account of the coronavirus pandemic will pay N297,600 for their quarantine, isolation and accommodation before evacuation to Nigeria .

This was contained in a letter signed by Nicholas Uhomoibhi , Nigerian Head of Chancery in Thailand , dated 14th May ,2020, with title “Need to Pay for Quarantine, Isolation , Accommodation Centre or Hotels before departure and arrival in Nigeria”.

The statement said the directive was due to measures that are beyond the control of the Civil-19 local organizing team in Nigeria .

“All evacuees going to Nigeria henceforth are to now pay for their quarantine, isolation and accommodation Centre or Hotels before departure and arrival in Nigeria ,” the statement said.

The statement also informed all prospective evacuees that it has negotiated the rate which includes: accommodation N240,000 while feeding is N57,600.

“Kindly be informed that these rates were negotiated in Nigeria and that the Embassy has been instructed not to airlift any evacuee who fails to pay the above fee,” the statement added.
