The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unveiled the best candidates in the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with all the top 10 candidates applying for Engineering programmes in the nation’s university system.
The JAMB’s top performance list which is contained in the Board’s weekly bulletin made available to newsmen in Abuja, shows that Maduafokwa Egoagwuagwu, Agnes, who sat for the exam in Lagos but hails from Anambra State, topped the performance chart with a total score of 365 out of 400.
Maduafokwa applied to study Industrial and Production Engineering at the University of Ibadan.
Nwobi Okwuchukwu David also from Anambra State but sat for the UTME in Kogi State came second with 363. David picked Kwara State University as his first choice and he intends to study Mechanical Engineering at the institution.
According to the bulletin made available by Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Head of Media, the third position was clinched by Edo-born Ojuba Mezisashe-359, who took the exam in the Federal Capital Territory and applied for Electrical Engineering at the Covenant University, Ota.
Others top performance include Elikwu Victor Chukwuemeka-359 from Delta State, who is seeking admission into the Computer Engineering programme of Covenant University; Adebola Oluwatobi Paul- 358 from Ekiti State with the exam town in Lagos and intends to study Electrical Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
Gboyega Oluwatobiloba Enoch-356 from Ekiti State; Ojo Samuel Oluwatobi-355 from Ondo State; Utulu Jebose George-355 from Delta State and Osom Akan Awesome-353 from Akwa Ibom State all applied to study engineering programmes at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), also made the top performance list, among others.
