The Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP) is to construct six Agro Logistics hubs in Benue.
The State Project Coordinator (SPC), Engr. Mone Aernyi, disclosed this when he led the Management Team of the project on a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor, Benue State University (BSU), Makurdi, Prof. Msugh Kembe.
Aernyi said that the hubs are agriculture-based, stressing that they were areas that engage in massive agricultural activities, spread the senatorial zones.
“It is the desire of the project to reconstruct some major markets in the state to encourage massive agricultural activities.
“We will build stores, storage facilities, provide water and solar light across most major markets in the state in order to enhance agricultural activities,” he said.
Responding, Kembe, pledged readiness of the university to support the project because it is people-oriented, and targeted at uplifting people in the rural areas.
“We have the best laboratories in food processing in the country. We will offer them to you to make use of them for free,” he said.
