DSS invites Mailafia over comments on Boko Haram

The Department of State Security has summoned former Presidential Candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr. Obadiah Mailafia over claims that a northern governor is the commander of Boko Haram and that the sect will start civil war in 2022.

According to a message received from an associate of the former banker, he is expected to appear at the DSS office in Jos, Plateau State by 12 noon today.

Although, the invitation could not be confirmed from the DSS as at the time of filling this report, a tweeter handle #LeaveMailafiaAlone is already trending, indicating that the invitation may not be a hoax.

In one of the tweets, a human right actvitist, Dr. Chidi Odinkalu wrote, “#Nigeria’s secret police, #SSS, has invited Dr. Obadiah Mailafia for interrogation in Jos, tomorrow”.

Also Comrade Deji Adeyanju (@adeyanjudeji) tweeted “The DSS must not intimidate former CBN Chief, Obadiah Mailafia, into silence”.

Also confirming the invitation, Bashir El-Rufai (@BashirElRufai) tweeted “Someone opened his mouth and spouted dangerous bullshit with no evidence put forward and this fool wants to trend.

“He should disclose & share evidence of his claims to the DSS so as he said, the sponsors of killers in Southern Kaduna can be brought to justice”.

The DSS had recently disclosed that some renowned people in the nation were planning to cause chaos, stressing that it would not sit aloof to see any citizen break the law without taking action against the culprits.

Mailafia had during a radio programme in Abuja while speaking on the current crisis in Southern Kaduna, disclosed that members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists have perfected plans to plunge the country into a civil war by 2000 and gain control of the entire country and that a governor from the north is the commander of the sect.

He went further to disclosed that the dreaded sect are all over the forests in the entire country especially in the southern part of the country. He revealed that they used the period of lockdown to move equipment and people into the south and that they have gained control of all the forests in the south.

Dr. Mailafia who was a guest on Monday at a morning programme known as ‘Morning Crossfire’ on Nigeria Info Abuja 95.1FM revealed that information available to him from repentant Boko Haram members revealed that a former governor in the North is the commander of Boko Haram. He said that bandits and Boko Haram are one and same people.

He said, “Some of us also have our intelligence networks. I have met with some of the bandits; we have met with some of their high commanders – one or two who have repented – they have sat down with us not once, not twice.

“They told us that one of the northern governors is the commander of Boko Haram in Nigeria. Boko Haram and the bandits are one and the same. They have a sophisticated network. During this lockdown their planes were moving up and down as if there was no lockdown.

“They were moving ammunition, moving money, and distributing them across different parts of the country.”

The Oxford trained banker was emphatic that the country will cave in to the fire power of Boko Haram in 2022 as they are already infiltrated the south, unless there is a very committed move to avert the impending doom.

“They are already in the South, in the rain forests of the South. They are everywhere. They told us that when they finish these rural killings, they will move to phase two. Phase two is that they will go into urban cities, going from house to house killing prominent people.

“I can tell you this is the game plan.

“By 2022, they want to start a civil war in Nigeria. Don’t joke with what I am saying I have a PhD from Oxford University. I am a central banker, we don’t talk nonsense. I have this from the highest authority, some of the commanders of Boko Haram.”

The Kaduna born development economist also took time to lament how his town has been subjected to a theater of war by bandits while government seems unwilling to change the narratives.
