The Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA) has disburses N1.9 million loan to first batch of some windows of the Nigeria Army Ranking Officers Wives Cooperative Society, Karu.
This is contained in a statement issued by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Ifeyinwa Amulu at the weekend.
She said the first batch of the loan was done under the Abuja Enterprise Agency’s Loan Revolving Scheme Programme was initiated to cushion effects of Covid 19 pandemic.
It explained that the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AEA, Dr. Arabi Muhammad Tukur said that women are better to be empowered as they create more opportunities and wealth with the little resources assistance given to them.
“Women are the backbone of the family and the bedrock of the society. Empowering them becomes necessary since they are the breadwinners of their families”
Tukur who was represented by the Deputy General Manager Malam Shehu Abdukadir, urged the beneficiaries to utilize the funds given and use for the said business purpose.
He encouraged them to pay off at the appropriate time to enable other members of the Cooperative access another round of loan if the need arises.
On his part, the Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement/Civic Interventions Mrs. Olatoyosi Onaolapo who represented the office of the vice president expressed her profound gratitude to the Management of AEA for finding the group recommended by their office worthy to give grant.
