35,993 Plateau households to benefit from Dangote’s Covid-19 palliative

The Plateau State Government has commence the distribution of palliative to 35, 993 households donated by Dangote Group under the Coalition Against COVID-19.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner of Information and Communication in the State, Hon. Dan Manjang, during the flag off of the distribution of the palliatives to poor of the poorest in Jos, the State Capital.

Manjang said the palliative would be distributed across ethnic, religious and political affiliations.

“Plateau State Government appreciate the donation made by coalition against COVID19, that is the Dangote group and his associates. We are glad to inform you that a total of 39,993 households will benefit from the palliative.

“Each of the household will get 1 carton of pasta, 2 carton of noodles, 1 bag of 5kg sugar, 1 bag of 1kg salt and 1 bag of 5kg Semovita.

According to him, “The households have been selected across the 17 Local Government Areas, base on their electoral wards and polling units.

“We want to inform the people that rice will also be distributed as soon as it arrives the state”, he explained.

“Plateau State Government appreciates the Dangote Group or the Coalition Against COVID-19 for their support to the poor of the poorest in Plateau.

“I call on the 17 Local Government Chairmen to be judicious and transparent in the distribution of this palliative and ensure that it gets to the targeted people.”

Manjang further explained that contacts of all benefiting households have been taken to ensure transparency and accountability in the distribution of the materials.

“The items are meant for the poor of the poorest and these people have been identified by their Local Government Areas”, he stressed.
