Gov Bello calls for peaceful co-existence in Kogi

As over 4,050 participated in the peace walk to mark this year’s Global Peace Day Celebration in Kogi, the state governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on Monday in Lokoja, restated government’s commitment towards peaceful co-existence of the people in the state.

The governor gave the assurance when he received members of Action Aid Nigeria and Participation Initiative For Behavioural Change in Development (PIBCID) in Government House during this year’s Global Peace Day Celebration, with the Theme ”Together For Peace’.
The Governor who was represented by the Hon. Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Idris Musa while receiving members of Action Aid Nigeria and PIBCID during a peace walk to commemorate 2020 Global Peace Day said efforts would be intensified towards peace sustenance in the state.
He appreciated the efforts of Action Aid and PIBCID at promoting Peace in the state, saying without peace there will be no development, advising the youth to cultivate the habit of living in peace with one another.

Earlier, the Executive Director, Participation Initiative For Behavioural Change in Development, (PIBCID), Halima Oyiza Sadiq congratulated the youth and the people of the State for coming out to celebrate this year Global Peace Day saying if there is no peace, there will be no Education.

In his remarks, the coordinator Action Aid Nigeria Kogi State, Mr Friday Ogezi, thanked the government for its effort for the maintenance of peace in Kogi State.
