Yobe state police command has issued a stern warning to all security stakeholders to put all necessary measures in place to ensure smooth celebration of the Eid – Fitr sallah in the state .
The security stakeholders include , local chiefs , ward heads , village heads , unit heads , NURTW , Keke Napep riders Association , traders , market Association , Jama’atul Nasir Islam ( JNI) christain Association of Nigeria ( CAN) , Civil society Organization to make sure law and order is maintain during the holidays and to eschew any form of rumor spilling in the state on the possible attack by Boko-Haram criminal elements on Sallah day .
In a press statement made available by the police public relation officer , ASP Dungus Abdulkareem through the Police and Press WhatsApp platform reads ,”
The command attention was drawn to an unfounded rumor originated from Kallalawa Village in Yobe, that female suicide bombers have been dispersed in the state by Boko-Haram group to detonate improvised explosive devices ( IED) in public places during Sallah is untrue as the village head of the town has dispelled the rumor milling around as false from ill inform indigenes in the state.
The statement added that the command has placed all necessary measures to protect lives and properties of the citizens before , during and after the Sallah holiday which can be achieved through the cooperation of everyone in the state.
Meanwhile , the commissioner of police , CP Yahaya S Abubakar reiterated his commitment in the fight against crime in the state and urged all and sundry to be security conscious , vigilant and report all suspicious movement person , object or unlawful gathering of any form to the nearest police station across the state.
