MHUWUN: King Josiah remains president till 2023, as new acting GS emerges

In a unanimous affirmation for his exemplary leadership and the successes achieved since his emergence as its National President, the central Working committee (CWC) of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHUWUN) has passed a vote of confidence on HRM Biobelemoye Josiah, which allows him to continue piloting the affairs of the union till 2023.

Coming after the enthronement of HRM Biobelemoye Josiah, as first class King of Opu-Nembe Kingdom in Bayesa State, MWHUN CWC also at a meeting held recently in Abuja endorsed the  appointment of Comrade Auwal Yusu Kiawa, as the union’s new Acting Secretary General.

At the formal presentation of the new Acting General Secretary held at MHWU National Secretariat, Ayuba Wabba House,  on Thursday, July 1, 2021, the President HRM, Biobelemoye Josiah, together with some Union executives, presented comrade Auwal Yusu Kiawa to members of staff of MHWUN.

In his remarks, King Biobelemoye charged the union staff to give the incoming acting Secretary General all the support he need to enable him quickly understand the workings of his new office.

The Royal Father also reminded the administrative staff to render the same  support extended to Late Silas Adamu to the new Acting Secretary General, to perform his duties optimally.

Biobelemoye recalled the relentless commitment of the Late MHWU Secretary General, Silas Adamu and charged the new Acting Secretary General to ensure bureaucracy is seemless in memory of his predecessor.

In his response,  the new Acting Secretary General, Auwal Kiawa, appreciated the support and role  of his zone the North-central in his appointment and promised to uphold the dignity of his new office.

He further said he need the support of MHWU  headquatres staff members and his North-west Zone states not to fail in his new task as well as theirconfidence in him, though he is not new to the  challenges of his new office.

Until his appointment, which is for a period of six months in the first instance, Auwal Kiawa was the Kano state secretary of  MHWUN and North-west Zonal Secretary.

Auwal Kiawa’s Appointment, Follows the Sudden Demise of MHWUN  Secretary General, Mr Silas Adamu, in a ghastly autocrash along Abuja- Kaduna Expressway, on 8th of March 2021.

Late silas Adamu who died along with his wife and daughter  has since been buried.
