Global Peace Movement International (GPMI) has praised the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio’s strong desire to ensure lasting peace and development in the region.
The group further stated that good spirited Nigerians with nationalistic intent especially from Akwa Ibom State should be proud of “This worthy son of the South-South”
In a statement released to journalists in Abuja, on behalf of the group, President General of GPMI, Dr Mike Uyi charged other politicians from the region to emulate the sterling qualities of the Minister and deploy their mighty in attracting the needed democratic dividend to the region for its development.
He said: “what Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio is doing is worthy of commendation and if all our elected officials from the zone are deploying their weight, the region would have witnessed a faster rate of development.
“Sincerely, our people and Akwa Ibomites should be proud of him and the successes he has recorded as a person and a government official.
“I call on people of goodwill to join hands with him in the service to our fatherland”.
