Nigerian cry out over political thugs attack

By John Silas

The Security operatives have been enjoined to provide protection for citizens against political thugs’ attacks.

A Nigerian Mr Tajudeen Olatunji, who recently escaped kidnap attempt at Seme border stated this while narrating his experience to newsmen.

According to Mr Olatunji “good Samaritans rescued him from the recent attack unleashed on him by political thugs.”

Mr Olatunji, disclosed that “political thugs unleashed attack on him at Seme Border, while returning to Cotonou on June 29th, 2021. He was returning after been vaccinated against Covid-19 since access to public health care in the Republic of Benin is not guaranteed. ”

He narrated that “his assailants, suspected political hoodlums used face masks and tinted glass vehicles. It is quite unfortunate that insecurity in the country is getting worst.”

Olatunji added that”since 2015 that he supported and campaigned for a candidate of the PDP and the candidate won the seat for the House of Representative, his family and business had been under  threat by the ruling political elite party”.

In his words “I proceeded on exile since 2017 because of attacks of political thugs and constant APC party harassment of opponents”.

He further noted that one of those close shave encounters was the attack which occurred on June 29th, 2021 at Seme border. I was rescued by the people around.

In his words “i wish to call for security operatives vigilance to stem the tide of banditry and kidnapping, which when added with political attacks have further worsen the general insecurity in the country.”
