Insecurity: Kidnapkingpin, once kidnapped own father meets waterloo in Kogi

The Kogi State security operatives in OlamaboroLocal Government Area of Kogi State over the weekend killed a kidnap kingpin ina gun duel.

The deceased criminal was known for his numerousventures of kidnapping and armed robbery and
was once reported to have kidnapped his ownfarther and collected a ransom of 4 million naira.

It was reliably gathered that he was always in theeyes of the law enforcement agency but met his waterloo when encountered bysecurity operatives in the area on Saturday.

Our correspondent gathered that a combinedoperation led by Olamaboro Local Government Chairman, Hon. Adejoh FridayNicodemus involving both teams from the neighborhood nabbed another kidnapagent identified as Kizito Ocheme alias Igbo.

The culprit kidnapped and terrorized betweenOlamaboro Local government and Otukpa branch of Ogbadibo Local government of BeñnueState but was apprehended while trying to escape from the security operativesin the area.

The Local Government Chairman, Hon Adejoh Fridaystated that the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello and the entire leadership ofKogi State Government to guarantee the safety of lives and property is yieldinggood results as criminals now find Kogi as a no-go area.

In his reaction, Governor Bello who spoke throughhis Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed expressed that the Local Governmentwere the framework upon which the government structure was laid hence if issuesof security were resolved effectively at that level, it would reflectpositively on the state.

He stated that the results they were recordingwere largely owed to the morale boost and support the Governor has continued togive as well as the cooperation from the citizens and synergy between thesecurity operatives and commended security agencies in the state for theireffort in ensuring peace in the state.
