Twenty housemates are vying for the prizes.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of Teachers Naija on Monday, Enuagwuna Ubaka, the show’s convener, said the essence of the show is to reward teachers.
The 2021 show which is the second season brings together 20 teachers — 9 males, 11 females — from around Nigeria, who will be together in a house located in Abuja from August 3 to August 22.
The first edition held in 2019, but couldn’t hold in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In 2019, the winner, first and second runner up went home with N1.5 million, N1 million, and N500,000 respectively
While in the house, the teachers will be made to participate in activities and tasks related to entertainment and education.
The show will be aired on DStv Channel 195 and GoTV Channel 97 from 8 pm to 9 pm every day starting from Wednesday.
According to Enuagwuna “We discovered that over the years, the teaching profession has been looked down on and these are the people that actually mold the future of our children. Other professions all pass through the teacher. So why is this noble profession looked down on?” he told TheCable Lifestyle.
Ubaka explained that winners of the show would be chosen based on their ability to carry out tasks and perform excellently well in the activities within the twenty days.
The finalists will also get an all-expense-paid trip to Dubai.
The reality show is an initiative of Anub Media Limited.
