Money will not count in Anambra governorship election, says Ben Etiaba

The governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in the November 6, Anambra state governorship election,Chief Ben Etiaba, has expressed optimism that credibility and pedigree of candidates of the various parties involved in the election would be the determinant factor of electing the next governor of Anambra state, not money.


Chief Etiaba dropped the hints while unveiling his deputy,Mrs Regina Uchebo, to friends and his political associates in Enugu, at the weekend.


He said the Anambra state electorates are more enlightened in the present political dispensation than before and are desirous of electing a credible candidate with experience, who would stir the economy of the state out of the woods.


The chartered Accountant cum politician said he is not in politics to make money but to contribute his quota in reshaping the economy of Anambra state,which according to him is currently in darkness.


He said if his intention for joining politics is to make money, he would have remained in APC, after loosing in the primaries…However, he bore no grudge against the All Progressives Congress(APC),as a party.


His words,”If my intention is to make money, I would have remained in APC,but for the fact that I want to take Anambra state out of darkness, I am now contesting under the platform of Action Alliance(AA).


Chief Etiaba disclosed that he was inspired to join the Anambra state governorship race after his successful tenure,as Chairman of Enugu state sports club. Even as the unconstitutional but zoning principle favours Anambra South senatorial district, which is his iwn district.


He introduced her deputy, Mrs Regina Uchebo, as a political activist who knows the political terrain of Anambra state, very well having been engaged in the process for over a decade.
Mrs Regina Uchebo who hails from Omor in Anambra West senatorial district, assured that they would work relentlessly to  turn around the politics of Anambra state and governance to better,the lots of the masses.
