OPEC Boss Extols Ganduje’s Leadership Style

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), Muhammad Sunusi Barkindo, has described Kano state Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as a humble and focused leader who remains a source of inspiration to the present and future generation of Nigerian politicians cum leaders.


Barkindo, observed that Ganduje has performed creditably in all spheres of governance and dispensation of democratic dividends, even in the face of daunting challenges. 


The OPEC boss made the remarks during a courtesy visit to Ganduje at Government House, Kano on Thursday.
He was accompanied with  some of his family members, and friends.


 Barkindo told Ganduje that, “you have been doing extremely well despite challenges attached to leadership. You have remained the people’s governor.


“You are very focused, very humble and you are a proud to our generation. I am sure God Has brought you for a purpose. As you are discharging your responsibilities diligently and with all seriousness.” 

Barkindo emphasized that, while he was far away in Geneva, he followed trends in Kano. 


According bro Jim, developments taking place in Kano was only possible because Ganduje remained responsible and responsive. 


“We will continue to support you in your giant strides to develop Kano. You are doing excellently well Your Excellency. We are very grateful for what you have done so far in Kano,” he added.


In his response, Governor Ganduje acknowledged the quality leadership, Barkindo gives at OPEC, emphasising that, “I have to congratulate you for doing very well in OPEC. Especially during oil intricacies pertaining the politics of oil globally.


“Kano is happy with the good work you are doing at that global level. We are also happy for the respect you have for the state.


 “In case there is something at the global level, over there, that can benefit our people here in Kano, our government will not hesitate for proper partnership.”
