The publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress(APC) Enugu state chapter,,Mts Kate Offor, has beckoned on President Muhammad Buhari to intervene in the lingering crisis lingering in the Enugu state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which from all indiocations have defied all solutions by echelons of the party hierarchy.
Her SOS is coming barely a week to the nation wide state congress of the party, scheduled next weekend, October 2. The allayed fears that the parallel Congress already conducted by the two warring factions in the two previous Congresses will jeopardize the chances of producing a formidable and hard working new state chairman of the party.
A copy of her SOS(Save Our Soul) statement to President Buhari copied to news men, She urged President Buhari to ensure that the rotational or zoning principle of harmonizing party positions in the state are implemented in choosing the next leadership of the party in the state.
She alleged that Senator Ken Nnamani is working against the formula at the expense of truncating the chances of truncating the chances of foundation members of the party in retaining the leadership of the party.
Het statement reads, “Foundation members of APC in the Enugu State has gradually improved the electoral fortunes of our great party from 2015 to 2019 general elections; we need to improve more especially with registration of new members.
However, we wish to appeal that the flagrant breach of Article 20 of the APC Constitution by Senator Ken Nnamani’s imposition called consensus be urgently addressed before the October 2, 2021 State Congress.”
She stated further, “Our core resolution in the meeting is to call on Mr President who is the leader of our great party to SOS! SOS! SOS!
“Our understanding is that Senator Ken Nnamani and Co’s devious plan is to SHUT OUT APC foundation legacy members in Enugu State.”
,”His Excellency, M.M.Buni as a foundation legacy member knows how we toiled, sweated and sacrificed to build the Brand APC. While Nnamani and Co were in PDP’s Comfort Zone. We also need Buni’s deft reconciliation tactics. For Nnamani and Co did not bring anything to the table, neither electoral value, nor people nor money.”
The Enugu APC image maker disclosed that the party in the state had after the registration and revalidation exercise supervised by Senator John Zwingina sticked on the zoning culture,alleging Senator Ken Nnamani want to truncate the process.
Her words “Secondly, we resolved for the purposes of the State Congress to clarify the position we took in June after the Distinguished Senator Jonathan Zwingina led Registration and Revalidation Panel that’;
“We hereby clarify that all party offices zoned to the East Senatorial District is now zoned to West Senatorial District and all party offices zoned to the West is now zoned to the North Senatorial District and all those zoned to North is now zoned to East Senatorial district”.
“Finally, we call on Mr President to Save Our Soul (SOS), as Senator Ken Nnamani’s devious plot is to SHUT OUT foundation legacy members of APC in Enugu state’,She stated.
