Jigawa Deputy Speaker in bank loan scandal

The Deputy Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Musa Suleiman Kadira, has been called out on a bank debt scandal.

The Deputy Speaker, who also represents Guri State Constituency in the State’s house of assembly, was said to have applied to the management of Abuja based First Generation Mortgage Bank, for the sum of N3.5m, which was granted him on the 11th of July 2012, and had since matured since 11th of February 2013, with the APC lawmaker failing to live up to his obligations to the bank, this has led the bank to send several correspondences to him without results, thus making them resolve to take every necessary legal steps to compel the deputy speaker to pay up.

In a brief chat with a section of the media, the bank’s head of corporate services, Mr Nosa Ogbeifun communicated the above and more, in his words, ” The attitude of Rt Hon. Musa Suleiman Kadira on this issue, is to say the least, most unfortunate, we have extended all the necessary courtesies and civility expected of a responsible financial institution and after 8 years, he still doesn’t find it necessary to pay up immediately, we are left with no other option other than to take all necessary legal options to recover depositors fund in his possession” concludes Ogbueifun. Out of the N3.5m granted to the Deputy Speaker in 2012, It was revealed that he has an outstanding payment of N849,448,67 to make to the bank which he was long expected to pay but failed to do so.

All efforts to get the deputy speaker’s reaction to this allegation through several calls to his personal phone line, SMS and WhatsApp messages did not yield any fruit
