As the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention slated for December gathers momentum the APC support groups for the former Nassarawa State Governor Senator Tanko Al-Makura has declared that the Senator should be adopted as the Consensus National Chairman in the interest of the party.
Rising from its general assembly the group through its National Chairman Hon.(Chief) Chukwunonso David Ezedima (JP) stated after an meeting of the support groups the have come to the conclusion that Senator Al-Makura remains the only that return the APC to its winning ways.
According to Ezedinma the “delegates to this event have had a series of meetings from last night and up until this morning. So, it’s only natural that we allow them some time to rest from their journeys. I will go straight to the Communique and take one or two questions afterwards.

Alh. Umaru Tanko Al-Amakura to be our Consensus Candidate for the position of National Chairman of our Great Party, the fastest- growing Party in the world and the Greatest Party in Africa, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“Gentlemen of the media, we are once again delighted to interact with you on the Al- Makura for the APC, NATIONAL CHAIRMANSHIP PROJECT, which we announced to you sometime in march this year, at our maiden press conference, in this very hall.
“Permit me to inform you that our Principal has graciously answered our call on him to run for the office of the next National Chairman of our great party, the APC
His decision to contest for the office of the National Chairman of our party was announced at a public declaration to the media on the.
“We have invited you here today to express our gratitude to Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura, not only for heeding our call for him to run, but, to also publicly declare our total support and firm commitment to his candidature for the office of the National Chairman of our party.
Ezedinma stated that “In our march media conference, we reeled out numerous reasons why we considered him the most suitable person to pilot the affairs of the APC, giving his vast experience as a consummate Buharist right from the days of the defunct Congress for Progressives Change, CPC. You may wish to recall that the merger arrangements that produced the APC, was midwifed by Alhaji Al-Makura, then, the only Executive Governor of the CPC, alongside other leaders, who went into negotiation table with other Political parties like the ACN, ANPP and APGA, that gave birth to the ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS, APC
In addition to being a core Buharist, Al-Makura, ran a very successful administration as two term Governor of Nasarawa state from 2011 to 2019.
“Within the period he governed the state, NasarawaState became a shining example in terms of projects that were spread across all the senatorial zones of the state
As Governor, he ran an inclusive administration, and unified the states across Political, religious and ethnic divides, living behind the enviable record making Nasarawa one of the most peaceful states in the country
The governance template that His Excellency, and now Distinguished Senator Al-Makura has given to the state, is today being adopted not only by his successor, but, also governors of the neighbouringstate, for effective transformation of their states.
“Gentlemen of the Press, it is on record that His Excellency, and Distinguished Senator Al-Makura, is known to have demonstrated an uncommon loyalityto his party and ideals of progressivism all through his Political career.
As one of the founding fathers of APC, Al-Makurano doubt understands the principles upon which the party is found, and has the capacity to effectively manage its affairs.
We have every confidence to declare that our principal, Al-Makura is very well endowed and prepared for the job of leading the party to greater heights.

For the party to survive and retain the presidency, a man like Al-Makura is what the APC needs to guarantee its future and survival as a strong Political party, after president Muhammadu Buhari lives office in 2023.
Ezedinma declared that “having resolved to support this enigma of performance in public and private leaderships, our Committee also resolved to ENSURE that the party accepts our proposition to present him as a consensus candidate for the office of national chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) Consequent upon all the above, we CALL on and INVITE all true progressives in our Party and, indeed, all country men and women of goodwill to join us in this quest for the re- engineering of our Party in the search for a New Nigeria that will benefit us all.
