Kano Info Commissioner Urges NGOs, Others To Help Orphans, Less Privileged

Kano state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba has made a strong case for the welfare of orphans and the less privileged, urging non-governmental organizations (NGOs),  corporate organizations, the rich and well-to-do to offer help and support to them so as to make them feel comfortable and accommodated in the society.


Garba insisted that the laws of God and humanity are in tandem with the need to mitigate  the sufferings of orphans and less-privilaged in the society.


According to a Statement signed by the Director in charge of Special Duties at the state Ministry of Information, Sani Abba Yola, the Commissioner made the call while receiving  Brotherhood and Better Living Foundation who paid him a courtesy visit.


Malam Garba said  Brotherhood and Ganduje Foundations initiated several humanitarian services especially in the areas of education, health and other social responsibilities that impact on the lives of poor people in the state.
He assured that the state and the ministry of Information will do everything possible to support them to continue with the humanitarian activities for the benefit of the less-previleged. 


Briefing the Commissioner on the activities of the foundation, its Secretary General, Brotherhood and Better Living Foundation, Alhaji Ibrahim Khalil said the foundation assisted over 5,000 students in the state and provided  a support of N5,000 to many orphan mothers at Dorayi quarters as well as provision of food items to over 100 households at Tofa and Dawakin Tofa local governments.


In his remark,  Chairman Board of Trustees of the foundation who is also the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocols,  Alhaji Adamu Unguwar Gini, explained that members of the foundation contribute and mobilize resources to render humanitarian activities.


He appreciated the Commissioner for identifying with the foundation in the distribution of palliatives during COVID-19 period which were distributed to the needy in the state.
