The minister of the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has directed that a letter of commendation should be presented to ex- military officer, Architect Murad Saddeek who refurbished and equipped the ICT centre at Government Secondary School (GSS), Hajj Camp Gwagwalada.
Board Chairman of FCT Secondary Education Board (SEB) Musa Yahaya made this known while commissioning the ICT complex single handedly refurbished by the donor to assist staff and students of the school.
Yahaya explained that the Minister was happy with the project just as he announced that the centre should be named after the donor to serve as motivation to young ones who would be encouraged by the achievement of Architect Saddeek and join the military as a profession.
He implored Nigerians to invest in the education sector instead of giving out donation outside the country just as he called on Nigerians to emulate the good gesture of Architect Saddeek.
On his part, the Donor, Dr. Murad Saddeek noted that what motivated him to equip the centre was to give the students opportunity to be computer compliant to be able to fit into computer age.
Saddeek, who is also the Director General Home Integrated Design Ltd Gwagwalada, further revealed that the idea came to him when he served in the school for his Phd teaching practice and discovered that the school lacked ICT centre.
“The ICT centre comprises of 12 computers of 25 inch touch screen, a projector, projector screen, 12 tables and 24 chairs with a stand-by generator and internet service and adequate security against burglary. The items were donated to help the students and teachers to apply computer applications efficiently.
“Having served under the Armed Forces for 21 years and retired with the rank of Master Warrant Officer in November 2020 and now gone into construction as a contractor. It was deemed fit to appreciate my country by giving back to the society out of my gratuity paid to me,” he explained.
