Among the many names that have saturated the Nigerian comedy space, Ojo Boluwatife Babatunde popularly known as Isaac Bholu is one name that is gradually turning to a household name.
The local comedian who is now a popular Instagram comedian joined the entertainment industry at a time when the educational system of Nigerian was facing a setback.
Isaac Bholu was born and raised in Ibadan, Oyo State in South-West Nigeria. He attended the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB) for his tertiary education program. While at FUNAAB, Isaac started comedy when the school embarked on a prolonged Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike. It was during this strike period that Isaac began comedy not wanting to sit at home, idle, like most students during his time.
One would expect him to toil in the dark for long since he was starting comedy and the production of comedy skits in 2015, at a time when the industry was already full of big names making waves. Regardless, Isaac Bholu made supersonic waves and progressed to become one of the most popular skit makers in the country today.
According to the comedian, the comedy world accepted him unexpectedly. It is surprising that what was supposed to be a hobby has made him popular and speaking to a representative from our firm, Isaac Bholu said it had always been about consistency and creating relatable content. Although Isaac does not plan to stay in comedy full-time, he has promised to keep fans thrilled with his content.
