Bafarawa’s Son Arrested By Operatives Of IGP’s Special Tactical Squad Over Alleged Armed Banditry

Eldest son of the former Governor of Sokoto State Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa and a serving Commissioner in Sokoto State Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa has been arrested by the Special Tactical Squad from the office of the Inspector General of Police in connection with the ongoing investigations of his cousin Musa Kamarawa over his alleged involvement in armed banditry.

The arrested suspect (Kamarawa) had narrated how armed bandits operated and his involvement and association with the most wanted notorious leader of the armed bandits Bello Turji who is responsible for all the major attacks in the villages of Sokoto, Zamfara,Katsina States and other part of the Northern Nigeria.

The nephew to the former Governor of Sokoto state Attahiru Bafarawa, Musa Karmawa revealed his involvement in different crimes, including kidnapping, cattle rustling, collection ramson , armed banditry, unlawful possession, procurement, and sales of firearms,( Ak 47, Ak 49, Rifles, Gun truck rocket launchers and ammunitions of different calibre) trading of iilicits drugs, supplying of foodstuffs, Military uniforms.etc


Investigation of those who are aiding and abetting banditry are still going in Sokoto, Zamfara, Katsina, and Kebbi State .


At the completion of investigations, all the suspects arrested will be charged to court for prosecution.
