While calling on Nigerians to elect credible leaders with wide knowledge of the country’s challenges, the security expert also called on the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), to elect Sen. George Akume as its national chairman in the February 26 convention.
“I, therefore, advocate the need to strengthen the security architecture of Nigeria and the dire need to elect credible leaders who, apart from their core-competences and expertise, have unimpeachable track records of service and proven integrity to lead Nigeria. It is also important we elect leaders who have the capacity to end the country’s endemic corruption and security challenges.
“The law enforcement and security agencies have been overstretched over the years, hence, need our collective support to enable them tackle the security challenges plaguing the country.
“The insecurity problem in the country may be solved by rethinking and restructuring of the country’s security architecture.
“I am also calling on the ruling and leading All Progressive Congress (APC) to elect Sen. George Akume as its chairman because he has the capacity to transform the party and feature credible candidates for the forth coming election,” Akighir said.
