Kano state Governor, Dr. Abduulahi Umar Ganduje on Sunday, said he was not perturbed over the decision of the the Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s led G-7 to challenge the Appeal Court judgment that confirmed Prince Abduulahi Abbas as the authentic chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state, at the Supreme Court.
He said the doors of the party’s new leadership are open for dialogue as members of the Senator Ibrahim Shekarau’s faction are free to join hands with the party leadership for the over all interest of the party.
Ganduje who spoke at Coronation Hall, Government House, during APC stakegolders meeting said going to the Supreme Court to challenge the ruling was a democratic process, insisting that the Abdullahi Abbas APC-led leadership is well positioned to lead the party to greater heights.
According to him, modalities have been worked out to strengthen the structure and finance of the party.
Ganduje, however, appealed to aggrieved members in the party to bury their difference and join hands with the new leadership to reposition the party in the state.
The Governor further appealed to party stakeholders to remain committed and encourage the new leadership to implement programmes and policies that can lead the party to victory in 2023 and beyond.
He, however, recalled that his administration and that of his predecessor, Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso have done a lot in building modern Kano more than previous administrations, citing numerous infrastructural developments being carried out by the APC-led administration in the state.
Prince Abbas in his brief remarks, appealed to members and supporters of the G-7 to join hands with his leadership in building a stronger and vibrant APC in Kano.
He also promised to be fair to all and carry everybody along in his bid to reposition the party in the state.
Other party stakeholders who spoke during the meeting include Senator Ibrahim Kabiru Gaya representing Kano South senatorial district; Commissioner for Local Government, Murtala Sule Garo; the Deputy Governor, Yusuf Gawuna; Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, among others.
The speakers all expressed their willingness to support the Abdullahi Abbas-led executive to achieve its desire to reposition the party.
