…As Kano Exco Sets Up Screening C’ttee For Int’l Islamic Organization

Dr. Ibrahim Mu’azzam Maibushira has emerged the new Executive Chairman of the Board of the Kano State Zakkat and Hubsi Commission.
This followed the reconstitution of the Board by Kano state Executive Council.
The state Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, disclosed this at the end of the Council’s meeting held at the Africa House, Government House, Kano.
He gave the names of Dr. AbdulMutallab Ahmed as Commissioner 1; Dr. Lawi Sheikh Atiq Commissioner II of the Commission; and any person deemed competent by His Excellency, the governor to serve as director-general of the Commission.
Malam Garba also listed the names of members of the Commission to include Sheikh AbdulWahab Abdallah; Alhaji Aminu Dantata; Alhaji Aliko Dangote; Alhaji and AbdusSamad Rabi’u.
Other members, he said, include representatives of the five Emirate Councils in the state, representatives of ministry of information, ministry of religious affairs, Kurmi, Rimi Kwari and Singer markets, respectively.
The Commissioner also announced that the Council approved the establishment of the Committee for Screening of International Islamic Organizations with Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen, the Chief Imam of Kano as chairman; Dr. Muhammad Tahar Adamu, commissioner for religious affairs, co-chairman and Auwalu Shehu Yakasai as Secretary.
He said representatives of the Emirate Council and security agencies would be provided by Office of Secretary to the State Government.
