Ohuabunwa describes burning of Prof. Obiozor residence as desecration of the Igbo ethos

A Frontline Presidential Aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa has commiserated with the President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, Professor George Obiozor on the burning of his country home in Imo State at the weekend.


Ohuabunwa in a statement on Sunday, described the act as very uncharitable in the face of efforts by the Obiozor-led Ohaneze to bring lasting peace to a once peaceful Igboland.
Ohuabunwa, who is also the Convener of the New Nigeria Group (NNG) frowned at the arson on the elder stateman’s country home.


He further described the the arson as a “desecration of the Igbo ethos” and expressed sadness that such as distardly act could be visited on the “symbol of Igbo collective and authority”.
The presidential Aspirant urged the government to leave no stone unturned in fishing out those responsible for the henious act.


Ohuabunwa also called on all well meaning sons and daughters of South East to joins hands in halting the violence currently being witnessed in the region.


He noted that violence has never solved any problem and urged all agrieved youths to embrace dialogue. 
Ohuabunwa promised to tackle the growing insecurity in the land of he the opportunity to pilot the affairs of Nigeria come 2023.


It was reported that gunmen razed the country home of Prof George Obiozor,  and Umuguma Police Headquarters in Oru East and  Owerri West local government areas respectively.

Eyewitnesses said two police constabularies on duty were killed during the attack  on the police headquarters but the police spokesperson  in the state, Michael Abattam, a CSP said that that  no casualty was recorded.
