2023 APC ticket: Am not afraid of Tinubu, Osinbajo, Amaechi others, Gov. Yahaya Bello

As the battle over who picks the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections get tougher  Kogi State Governor and  a leading contender, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has dismissed concerns that the rising cridentials of his opponents may affect his chances in the forthcoming presidential convention in May

Bello who spoke through his Media Department of his Campaign Organization in an interactive session with the members of APC Press Corps in Abuja said that he is not intimidated by the development, even as he said he would not be threatened by any consensus arrangement, since he stands in a pole position to clinch the ticket irrespective of any selection option adopted by the party.

Head, Directorate of Media and Publicity of the campaign organization, Yemi Kolapo, disclosed that Gov. Bello is not intimidated by the political profile of fellow aspirants, saying the old brigade should be the ones afraid of him.

Kolapo was represented by the quartet of the State Commissioner for Information, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Muhammed Onogwu, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, Billy Avoyi Nwogu and her counterpart in charge of Print Media, Mr Mike Ozigi.

“It is not about what they have been or done in the past. When you compare that to what someone is doing at the moment, I think they are the ones that should be intimidated right now because it is not about what you have achieved in the past. It is strictly what you are doing now. Gov. Bello has been chief executive of his state for over six years and he is going to do a great job for Nigeria”, said Fanwo who spoke on behalf of others.

The Campaign Organization, which also dismissed claims by those supporting the zoning of the APC presidential ticket any zoning saying Nigerians must vote for competence rather than ethnic sentiments.
