The Current chairman Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon Abdullahi Adamu Candido has declared interest to run for the AMAC/Bwari Federal constituency come 2023 election.
He said his declaration followed the continued call and presentation of a prepared blueprint by coalition of AMAC/Bwari youths.
Candido who would be leaving the chairman’s seat in May, after his successful unbroken six years, said if elected, he would build more capacity in the National Assembly that would attract development projects to the good people of the Constituency.
He explained that most challenges affecting the people of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) hinge around the constitution, adding that the problems can only be solved when people with the capacity are elected into the National Assembly.
In his words: “So, our problems lie with the National Assembly, and so we must be ready to send people there, especially those who have the capacity to do a little.
“So that we can push further those issues that concern us and get that results, since 90 percent of our problems revolve around the National Assembly.”
He added that he is contesting, not because of pressure from his people, but because of the goodwill from members of his constituency, who have called on him to run, so that together they can get things done.
In his remarks, the chairman of APC in AMAC, Hon Abbas Baba stated that it is time to reward Candido for his contributions to the development of AMAC since he won the chairman first and second tenure in the last six years.
Baba explained that Adamu Candido is the best man to represent the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the green chambers, because he has the capacity.
